Social justice should be rooted in love of others but it’s obvious a lot of people just weaponizing social justice to be bullies and borderline abusive under the guise of moral concerns
hot take: the lgbtq+ community maybe, just maybe, should take a long look at the racism in the community that’s extremely present and everybody is closing their eyes. Everybody is talking about belonging and being accepted when black lgbtq+ people are still being harassed everyday from inside and out of the community and y’all are just looking the other way.
here’s a reminder: if you’re acting like this and looking the other way or actively asking people of color to stop talking about the issue, you’re a big part of the problem.
It’s really hard when you think you’re healed from something and it affects you all over again. Like an old trigger still has an effect on you, or an old self-destructive habit comes back, or you still have panic attacks or nightmares over something you thought you were over. I know it really sucks, but it doesn’t mean that you haven’t made progress. It’s okay if healing isn’t a straight line.
